For these areas we can offer either Steam Low Pressure, Cold High Pressure or Softwash with chemical or organic products. Each different system offers its own advantage but costs vary. We can also repoint patios and resend driveways if required.
For this clean we would use the Softwash option with a biocide, this is a slower cleaning process than using Sodium Hypochlorine but it is far safer and the results will last longer. The way in which algae works is by feeding of mineral salts, sodium hypochlorine is a mineral salt, so yes you are getting instant results but you are actually feeding the problem, this is why we would not recommend this option. Applying a chemical or organic biocide to the property will start the cleaning process immediately, however full results can take upto 6 months as the cleaning process is ongoing. This can keep going for upto 3 years depending on a number of factors keeping your property protected. Where by the sodium hypochlorine option would be well and truly covered in algae.
For this option we would advise a scrape off of the moss & treat with a biocide. This is by far the best way not to damage the roof. Again this is a longer term option and will prevent any further damage to your roof. We see lots of properties having their roofs pressure washed which causes a lot of damage, it can displace tiles and cause leaks which is not an option for us. We can low pressure steam the roof if required with a specialist mosmatic roof cleaner on a telescopic pole but this is not usually required.
Moss, Leaves and other debris will sit and block your gutter. They can slow the flow of water and even block the down pipe, this can cause excessive weight on the gutter causing damage. We have a solution using our SkyVac system, this will removed all debris with its powerful vacuum and leave your guttering clear. Safe operation from the ground in most instances.
